In October 2000 Doug Morrissey partnered with Harry Donovan to establish The Villa Roma in West Harwich, MA. Chef Doug comes to that partnership with a wealth of education and experience.
Starting at a young age Chef Doug felt at home in the kitchen with a passion seldom seen in one so young. That passion has taken Doug from the classroom where he helped start a cooking class for the young men in his school to cooking stints in Florida, Texas, New York, Connecticut and finally settling here on Cape Cod. After working in the kitchens at such fine establishments as The Chatham Squire, Christian's (along side Christian Shultz) and Campari's Doug had the strong desire to own and operate his own kitchen in his own restaurant.
The Villa Roma opened to rave reviews and was enthusiastically embraced by Cape Cod locals as well as the summer tourists in search of delicious Italian cuisine in a cozy warm atmosphere. Celebrating over 35 years in the restaurant business you can find Chef Doug in the kitchen every morning preparing our famous homemade marinara, Bolognese sauce and of course the ever popular homemade lasagna!! But if the weather is good and there is time in the schedule you may find Doug pursing his other passion - Golf!
